Like many marginalized communities, finding resources can be challenging, especially when you don’t know where to look. This is where The Black Key steps in. Through our network of trusted financial partners, we connect you to the resources you need to grow and thrive.
Why It Matters
The Black community in Canada is not a monolith, but rather a tapestry full of many immigrant communities arriving voluntarily or involuntarily over hundreds of years. Though some arrived involuntarily some others were excited to come to our shores in search of a better life. Whether arriving in the 60s 70s or even present day, the goal is to make Canada your home. This can be difficult if you don’t understand our internal governmental systems and philosophies.
The web of institutions and various levels of governance can feel complicated and overwhelming. Also, immigrants, depending on when they originally arrived, may not understand the experiences of new immigrants today. As well, those who emigrating from the Caribbean may see things differently than those immigrating from African countries. First generation Canadians may also have had different experiences than those who have been here for 2 or 3 generations. These differences could make it difficult to know who to ask or where to go for information.
This is where The Black Key comes in. Regardless of your level of knowledge we have developed tools to help answer those questions and provide information to aid in your successful integration into the Canadian financial landscape.
